At the heart of Anam Cara Fasgadh is a simple but powerful mission: to provide respite accommodation, meaningful experiences, and compassionate support to families grieving the death of a baby, child, or young person.

We understand that nothing can take away the pain of such a loss — but we also know how much it means to have a quiet space to rest, reflect, and reconnect as a family. A place to simply breathe. That’s why we exist.

Poppy’s Place – A Haven on the West Coast

Our first retreat space, Poppy’s Place, is a beautiful, modern caravan nestled within the tranquil surroundings of Tralee Bay Holiday Park in Benderloch, Argyll. Just steps from the water’s edge and tucked beneath sheltering trees, this special place offers peace, comfort and the healing presence of nature.

Stays in similar caravans at Tralee Bay Coastal Parks typically cost between £790–£990 for a 7-night stay. We are honoured to offer these breaks completely free of charge to families who have experienced the devastating bereavement through the death of a baby, child or young person. Many of our guests return year after year, booking future holidays directly with Tralee Bay — a testament to just how much the experience has meant to them.

This is only made possible through the incredible generosity of our fundraisers, donors, and supporters, who help us continue to offer these gifts of love and shelter.

Our Vision – A Network of Healing Spaces

While Poppy’s Place has touched many lives, the demand for these kinds of retreats is growing. Every year in the UK, over 17,000 families are bereaved through the death of a baby, child or young person.

Our vision is to expand, creating a network of luxury caravans or cabins across Scotland and beyond — safe, peaceful havens where grieving families can begin to find their footing again.
