Run for Anam Cara Fasgdah ~ Sun 28 Sept 2025!

Do something truly amazing and choose to run for Anam Cara Fasgadh! Your support will help us open our SECOND luxury caravan where bereaved families can come to find breathing space in tranquil surroundings. In May 2024 we opened our Cùram Cala campaign with a view to financing a second property and you can be part of the team who makes this ambition a reality.

You can sign up for:

  • Loch Ness Marathon (£74 entry, reimbursed by Anam Cara Fasgadh when you pledge to raise £200)

  • River Ness 10k (£35 entry)

  • River Ness 5k (£16.50 entry)

  • Wee Nessie (£6.00 entry)

The Marathon will start on the high ground between Fort Augustus and Foyers (B862) and will drop down to the banks of Loch Ness at Foyers (B852). From there, the route follows the loch’s south eastern shore, heading north east towards Dores on the northern tip of the loch. From Dores, the race heads directly into the center of Inverness (B862), turning left over the main road bridge and left again for the last half mile along the River Ness to the finish at Bught Park in the center of Inverness. Just have a look at the incredible scenery below!

Whether you are a veteran marathon runner or a newbie, this is one of the best marathons in the UK!

JJ’s JOG FOR ANAM CARA FASGADH

On 29 Sept 2024 Natasha took on her very first running challenge at Baxter’s Loch Ness Marathon

When we asked Natasha what prompted her to take on this challenge, she shared, "Our first born JJ passed away in March 2022 at 24 hours old. We were blessed with the help of some amazing organisations, including Anam Cara Fasgadh. We spent a much needed week at Poppy’s Place in October 2022 remembering JJ. We now have a beautiful and adventurous one year old daughter, Alba, and my husband Arron and I set ourselves the challenge this year of improving our mental and physical health while giving back. The Loch Ness 5K was my first foray (a few months ago I couldn’t have done 1K never mind 5K!!) and I’m delighted to have raised awareness and some vital funds for a very important charity in memory of JJ."

JJ would be very proud of Mummy for smashing such a great challenge and raising an incredible £500!

Loch Ness Marathon 2019

Iain Lonnan was one of our first marathon runners, taking on the Baxter’s Loch Ness Marathon for Anam Cara Fasgadh in 2019. Our cofounder Michael first met Iain in 2013 on the bus from Inverness to the Start line in Fort Augustus on a cold and dark September morning. They became great friends through their love of running & Iain pledged to run in memory of Michael’s son Kyle.

This was Iain’s 6th Loch Ness Marathon and he ran it in a phenomenal time of 3 hours 33 mins, smiling the whole way! He raised an amazing £320 for our charity.
