Fiona’s 100 Miles

Fiona chose to raise funds for Anam Cara Fasgadh because we provided support to their family. In 2020, the family experienced the devastating loss of her beloved nephew, Angus. So every May, Fiona walks (and swims) 100 miles in his memory and this year raised a fabulous £377 for us.

Completing 100 miles is no small feat, but she incorporates daily walks into her routine, taking a lunchtime stroll or leading her class in the daily mile. On days off, she aims for longer walks, sometimes accompanied by her amazing wee sidekick, Orla May.

Fiona says walking has been a source of healing for her, both physically and mentally. Whether reflecting on life and cherishing special memories in solitude or enjoying meaningful conversations with friends and family, these walks provide comfort and perspective.

Walk4Gabriel 2024

In September 2024 Jonathan McLeish and 7 friends took on the 96-mile trek of the West Highland Way. It was a challenging yet rewarding adventure that tested both their endurance and spirit. The Challenge was dedicated to Gabriel, who would have turned 4 in 2024.

In addition to the walk, their dear friend Hugh May ran the Men's 10K. Hugh’s dedication added another layer of strength to their collective mission, amplifying their shared commitment to this worthy cause.

The phenomenal £7,830 they raised will help Anam Cara Fasgadh continue our vital work.

Thank you to everyone who contributed, helping honour Gabriel’s memory and bring comfort to those in need.
